How to Earn a Lot of Money
There are three universal ways to get rich:
- The first and most obvious is completing quests. Special attention should be paid to non-obvious quests, which may not even be marked on the map, or random events. Sometimes you can get substantial sums there.
- The second option is playing dice. You will immediately notice characters ready to play, as they sit at small tables with dice.
- The third way is the most dangerous but also the most profitable — stealing. To successfully carry out your plan, you will have to follow several rules.
How to Find Quests
Not all quests are marked on the map. When you arrive in a new settlement, go around all the exclamation marks. However, it won't hurt to talk to people. Not everyone will want to talk to Henry. Most NPCs say one standard phrase — and that's it. Look for people with specific names and ask them about what's happening in the area. Sometimes you will need to listen carefully, as it may not be marked on the map. For example, in the very first village, a merchant talks about a load that fell into a pond, and one of the characters will tell you about a mysterious cabbage thief. You can earn well on such quests, but you will need to wander around and study the map or use guides.
How to Steal
For stealing, you will need lockpicks and stealth skills. The easiest way to level up stealth is with the miller you meet in the storyline at the very beginning. However, even without special skills, Henry can do a lot.
Firstly, you should be dressed lightly enough not to make noise. Ideally, you should have a special outfit specifically for stealth. In the player menu, there is a noise indicator, choose items that reduce it. Secondly, it's easiest to sneak into houses at night. This way, you can relatively easily pickpocket, especially if the character sleeps alone. Then you can strangle them and simply rob them. If you're lucky, you'll find keys to all the doors and chests in the house, which will make the task easier.
However, there is a nuance — stolen items, even if they are just in your inventory, attract attention. They need to be placed in a personal chest next to your bed, so they can lie there for some time (1-2 weeks). Over time, the stolen mark will disappear, and then the items can be sold. If you are reported or caught, everything stolen will be immediately taken away, but this won't happen if you managed to leave them in the chest.
The time it takes for the stolen item mark to disappear can be reduced faster if you level up the relevant perk in the "Stealing" section, and at level 20 "Speech" you will learn the "Partner in Crime" ability, which allows you to sell stolen goods immediately without waiting for the cooldown. There are also fences in the world, but they usually have no more than 200 groschen. The good news is that over time their money replenishes, so you can just fast-forward time.
Another good way to get rich is by looting corpses. This applies to both bandits and those you have killed due to circumstances. Don't forget to search every corpse you come across to later sell even what you don't need.
How to Play Dice
Playing dice is generally not very complicated, but it requires some skill. In the early stages, logic will suffice, but a little later you will have to look for special dice and so-called plaques. Plaques can be bought at an inn or from traders, they give certain buffs to the game, which is important to consider. Your opponents may also have such items. There are three categories — bronze, silver, and gold, but each has its own types.
The best dice are celestial and lucky. They can either be found in the open world or taken from other players. Stealing dice is not always easy, but if you manage it, put them in a chest. After that, you can safely take the punishment, but the dice will still remain with you. If you find 5 lucky dice and at least one celestial one, you will defeat almost any opponent.
