Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier recently shared new details about GTA 6, revealing some insights about its development and the recommendations given to its creators.

Here's what has been revealed:

  • GTA 6 is likely to no longer feature jokes about minorities, which often appeared in dialogues in previous installments. Rockstar is asking its writers to be less harsh towards these groups of people;
  • Several executives have been dismissed to improve corporate culture and prevent excessive employee burnout;
  • The online mode is expected to be very expansive, with creators hoping for substantial and stable revenue over a long period;
  • The project has pushed the development team to their limits, requiring late-night work and creating an atmosphere of tension and aggression;
  • Following a major leak in 2022, many developers were asked to return from remote work to a five-day office workweek;
  • Development started ten years ago but only gained momentum after the release of Red Dead Redemption 2;
  • Some publishers of other games fear competition with GTA 6 and are not yet ready to announce release dates for their projects until they are sure the new Grand Theft Auto will not be postponed to 2026;
  • The project has missed deadlines several times, but now Take-Two is confident that everything is on track, and GTA 6 will be released in the fall of 2025;
  • GTA 6 is expected to become the most expansive game of the decade and the most profitable entertainment product of all time.

It's worth noting that GTA 6 has already been nominated for The Game Awards 2024 in the Most Anticipated Game category. Rumors suggest that a new trailer for the game might be presented at this event, which will begin on December 12 at 7:30 PM ET and last about two and a half hours.
