New Super Luigi U — the main storyline is almost identical to the NSMBU storyline, with the exception of Mario. The player controls Luigi to progress through each level from left to right to reach the end, indicated by a flagpole. The levels contain various enemies and dangers that hinder progress. Levels also contain power-ups that give Luigi new abilities when collected; for example, the Fire Flower allows Luigi to throw fireballs, and the Flying Squirrel Suit allows Luigi to float in the air. Each level contains three "star coins" that serve as collectibles. The levels are divided into eight "worlds" and contain encounters with one of the eight Koopalings.
