Thematic publications unanimously called the film boring and bland, accused it of lacking memorable action and separately went over the stagnant Marvel cinematic universe, which no longer offers new and bold ideas. Numerous reshoots also did not benefit the project — the plot turned out to be crumpled, confusing and hastily stitched together.

It’s as if someone had gently ladled a teaspoon of artificial political-thriller flavor over a substandard Marvel movie, being oh-so-careful as not to upset corporate overlords or the status quo. A better title might have been Captain America: Business as Usual.

Unfortunately, Captain America: Brave New World proves a lackluster Marvel entry that feels as if its complicated storyline has been painstakingly worked out without a shred of inspiration.
— The Hollywood Reporter
Brave it might be, but there’s nothing all that “new” about the world revealed in this latest tired and uninspired dollop of content from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
— The Guardian

Captain America: Brave New World hits the big screen on February 14.

Earlier, the media learned who might play the role of Albus Dumbledore in the HBO series Harry Potter.
