Renowned journalist and insider Tom Henderson, who was the first to suggest that GTA 6’s release might be delayed from May to November, has shared fresh details about the current state of the project — refuting recent rumors about the game being “unfinished.”

Speaking on a recent Insider Gaming podcast, Henderson stated that all of GTA 6’s in-game content has been 100% complete for quite some time. According to him, the game now only needs final polishing, which makes November 19, 2026, a highly likely and accurate release date.

From what I’ve heard, it’s been content-ready for a very long time.

This information was also echoed by Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick in a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz. While he didn’t completely rule out potential shifts in the schedule, Zelnick emphasized that the company is “confident in the date, that's why we set it”. Still, given his similar optimism before the previous delay, fans remain cautiously skeptical.

Henderson further estimated that another delay could cost Take-Two around $60 million, underscoring the massive scale of the project and the publisher’s caution to ensure the game launches in the best possible state. He added that Rockstar’s goal is to release GTA 6 as a fully optimized experience without a single bug.

As of now, GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with no information yet on a PC version. However, fans are hopeful that the PC release will follow soon after the console debut.

Meanwhile, things seem tense inside Rockstar Games: reports suggest that employees at the studio’s UK branch are anxious after a wave of layoffs, while some of the dismissed developers have staged protests outside the office.
